LADY LIBERTY RESTORATION STUDY

The City Council approved the CPAC’s recommendation of $25,000 to the Holyoke Solders’ Memorial Commission to fund a restoration study of Lady Liberty Monument in Veteran’s Park. Highly qualified Historic Restoration Consultants will provide a comprehensive study of current conditions of the Lady Liberty Statue, evaluate alternatives and provide recommendations for rehabilitation and preservation of the statue and lighting of the statue and flag; develop detailed drawings and technical specifications suitable for public bidding of the alternative selected by the City, assist the City in obtaining funding for the bidding and construction phase of work, and provide an estimated cost of construction. This study is necessary as a preliminary step for the actual restoration of the Monument.
