The City Council approved the CPAC’s recommendation of $90,000 to Canal Row LLC to fund the façade restoration of the historic Armour & Company building at 130 Race Street in Holyoke’s Canal District. This project is part of a larger project to rehabilitate the entire 7,000 sq. feet historic Armour & Company building. The project will also include the removal of invasive vines and graffiti; removals of a wood staircase and ramp, non-historic windows and doors. It will include the opening of bricked windows; brickwork and repointing; the installation of windows and doors in keeping with the original historic architecture of the building. The project will fund restoration of three original doors with existing and new materials and the clean-up and restoration of original painted signs on the façade.
